The food and service was really good and I would have given it 5 stars but the atmosphere was wanting. There was no music. I asked the waitress and she said it was because the jukebox was broken. I do understand that they said they were renovating but I have been to the place a couple of times and there was no music playing, the few times there was music it was modern stuff played from a radio. Part of JR’s charm was the 50s vibe it gave which I think 50s music from a jukebox is integral to it. Please get that fixed up and it would be perfect!

I thought it was great. Delicious food and not expensive at all. Fun 50s diner and the staff was amazing! I will be going back and I would recommend to family and friends! They have great burgers, hot dogs, chicken strips, and shakes. Plus delicious fry's. It may get busy during special events but the times we go there is no problem with seating.

I didn't like the grilled chicken salad. For the cost I thought it was rather a small portion and secondly I expect a salad to taste fresh and a touch of chilled to the taste. Who wants a warm salad.... However the grilled chicken was decent. 🐔 disappointed a tad 🤔

The service was slow for being not terribly busy. We waited a few minutes to be seated to then wait for the waitress to clean the table off before we sat (no bus-boy?). We usually take our time to order, having to figure out food for our two little ones, and typically have to tell the waitress/waiter we need more time. At this visit, we ended up waiting again until we had our orders taken (at least we weren't pressured to hurry!) The food was tasty and didn't take a terribly long time to come out (though we had to ask for our missing shake and dipping sauces). My burger was pretty greasy and messy. My husband ended in an upset stomach the next day (not sure if from this food or something else he ate). Apart from waiting for basically every step, my other main issue is the cleanliness of the place. My son spilled a few drops of his drink and I used a napkin to clean it up and the one wipe I did the napkin was filthy. Not sure when the last time they gave the floors a good cleaning, but I'd guess it has been awhile. They also have mini jukeboxes and a large one, unfortunately they don't work at all - it would have been a nice thing for my kids to enjoy. I don't plan to return to this restaurant. It was not impressive and clearly the owners need to fix some things - increase staff or better train staff to manage the customers and needs as well as improve conditions within the restaurant.
