So I mostly don't give negative reviews as I try to find positive in everything. But my experience with this place was pretty bad. First it took them a while before they sat us while they had only 3 tables busy. After they gave us menus it took them more than 10 minutes to get a glass of water. After I ordered beef salad and mango sticky rice. I got only beef salad. Asked the waitress for soy sauce as there was nothing on a table. No salt. No pepper. She forgot the soy sauce. After I finished my meal I waited for mango sticky rice but never got it either. But it was on the bill. They removed it without even me asking. So advice to management have at least 3 waiters for lunch time as it gets busy on week days ;)

Have eaten here or ordered take out a dozen times or more. My favorite Thai restaurant in Phoenix. I've tried numerous dishes and loved them all. They do curry especially well. Tasty food, clean atmosphere, friendly staff. Try it out.

By far the best Thai place in town! I have not one negative thing to say about any item on their menu. Ive tried a ton of them and they were all equally delicious! I love the versatility of each dish as you can most often chose between a variety of meats and tofu! Friendly staff and although it does get packed quickly, it just goes to show how incredible the food is!

I absolutely love great Thai food and I've eaten more Thai food in my life than just about anyone else I know. Through the years, I've become friends with several Thai restaurant owners (mostly in Seattle) and have really enjoyed a plethora of excellent Thai restaurants in the city. Sala Thai has been oddly inconsistent to say the least. Their Tom Ka Gai soup was pretty good at my original visit, albeit the taste was unconventional (tomatoes??) and had extremely small shrimp (as in, like 5) instead of prawns. The next visit, it was totally bland. Also, their Pud Thai beef was lacking in flavor, texture, flavor and complexity. The beef was not a good cut of meat, nor was it properly prepared to minimize the toughness of the cut (rubbery). Adding more brown sugar to the meat marinade doesn't net a softer, better tasting meat. Prepping the meat and cutting it into thinner pieces (as traditionally prepared) may have been an improvement, but tough to tell. The last takeout I got from there (about a month ago) was absolutely terrible and I literally threw it all out (and wasted about $60). Oddly, the service and staff have been ironically inconsistent, just like the food. One staff member was really nice (younger, Caucasian waitress who was totally sweet and really helpful), while all of our other encounters with their staff members have varied from indifferent to quite unfriendly. Unfortunately, the food won't keep you coming back and the service certainly isn't helping that situation. Truthfully, 2 stars is already a bit of a gift...not recommended.

Our regular Thai restaurant because the crispy fish is really crisp and the sausage is delicious! Also try the fried banana with coconut ice-cream.
