Sigh...Red Robin. Could be great, usually just mediocre. BUT, our daughter loves it here so we are here at least a couple times a month. Food has the potential of being wonderful, but if you ask for any modifications, our experience is a 60/40 success rate. Servers are wildly inconsistent. Sometimes they are really friendly and on point, the kind of people you love coming back to. Other times they are terrible. Most often they're just ok, but let's face it, if you're a terrific server you probably want to work at a higher end restaurant. The best aspects of Red Robin are those that cater to kids. Their kid menu is great, lot's of options that even picky kids will eat; they offer balloons; they have chalk boards (that are never well-maintained and barely work); and the decor is also kid-friendly. They also have good gluten free buns, will make a lettuce wrap, have turkey burgers and plenty of options other than fries for sides, so people with special dietary concerns can find lots of options (just be certain they actually did what you asked before taking a bite!). If you're coming on a Friday night or weekend, be prepared to wait a bit. 20-30 minutes usually. A large chalk board up front entertains the kiddos and good seating makes it bearable though.
