My husband and I shared a delightful dinner on a rainy night at Buona Forchetta. The restaurant was really busy and everybody had to be under cover because of the rain so we had a bit of a wait. We use the time to check out what other people were eating and just to look at the restaurant itself. When we were finally seated, everyone in the restaurant was very attentive and the waiter was apologetic for the delay. I had an outstanding salad comprised of ribbons ofroasted root vegetables served hot on a bed of lettuce. I also had a delicious pasta dish as well. My husband started with an excellent soup followed by a pasta dish. We both enjoyed a glass of wine. It was clear that this was sort of a neighborhood place and a very popular one at that. I would recommend Buona Forchetta to anyone who is looking for a good meal in the San Diego area.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was not what I expected. We got the Artichoke App and that was very tasty. That was the best part of the food. The Juna pizza was god awful. Soggy as can be, lacking flavor. The mix seafood was tail on shrimp and bay scallops. My girlfriend got a vegan gnocchi which I thought was lacking flavor big time but she liked it a lot. Maybe it was an off night, maybe we just ordered bad things, who knows. The wine and service were good, hostess was super friendly and helpful so that's always a plus and worthy of another shot.

The wait time to get a table on a Saturday evening can be long but the food is fantastic and worth the wait. Some of the best Neapolitan pizza in San Diego. Great atmosphere and the wait staff is friendly. They don’t take reservations but you can call an hour before your arrival time and put your name on the list.

It’s a Tuesday night at 9 and there’s hardly an empty table. Service was amazing. I asked to make the sangria a bit sweeter and the manager offered to make a new one for me. It was delicious. The recipe uses mulling spices and cherries. The pizza is fantastic. You cannot leave here without ordering at least 1 pizza.

After the great reviews and 45 minute wait (suggesting it was busy and therefore good) we were just disappointed. Wait was fine (went to Hamilton's), service was good, but the food was really underwhelming and that's what we were there for. Salads were the star of our dinner, fresh ingredients and perfectly dressed. Pizza and meatballs were just meh. Not worth a 45 minute wait or the price. Will not return.
