Excellent experience ! Only 4 stars because 5 stars means something different for restaurants, and this is local favorite place casual near the water. It's great interesting fine dining in a non pretentious gastropub. Very good food and wines. A real chef, obviously. Not a wannabe - subtle flavors and texture when that's best, but also surprising or hearty or just fun when that's appropriate for the food. Down to Earth wine and beer list, but well curated! Fun cocktails too. Wait staff have been very good. They know the menu, cocktails and wine lists well enough to actually recommend things if you talk with them for a minute or two ! Happy Hour is a crazy good deal. Dinner and drinks is affordable even to your inland friends. Note, it's close to the coast and even closer to the water of Huntington Harbor, but there's no "view." Just a pleasant outdoor patio. There has to be an architect involved somehow. Notice the simple things done to a very basic space that form separate but open areas. It takes talent and training to do that!

Great wine, mixed drinks and very generously sized starter dishes. Honestly you can't go wrong with an entree either. Whether it's the swordfish and veggies or risotto, you will not be disappointed. Last but not least, the fries are amazing! Enjoy friends 🤙

Came here for dinner on a date night after looking at the menu. The place is tucked into the shopping center on the back of trader Joe's but is obviously well regarded as it was quite full on a Saturday evening. The ambiance is nice, dimly lit but not so dark that you can't read the menus like some places. We opted to stick to appetizers only and feel our way through the evening, which ended up being a good idea as the appetizers were fairly large. We also brought our own wine and paid the modest $10 corkage fee ($10 for first two bottles, $15 for every bottle after). The food was good, however felt pretty heavy. The bacon wrapped dates were killer, and the arugula with it gives it good balance. The brussel sprouts though are overpowered by the very heavy breading on the onion rings which mostly all fell off anyways. And the poke was unfortunately very little fish and the fried eggplant "chips" while an interesting idea, just end up soft and mushy and weigh you down. We ended up eating the poke without the eggplant. We never made it to the entrées, however they looked very good. We'll probably come back and try again. Price ended up fairly modest with our own wine.

Average food. I ordered the porterhouse steak medium rare. It didn't really have a seared char to it and it was kind of dry. The twice baked potato was also dry. The mushroom soup was ok, could have used more cream and seasoning. The bacon wrapped dates were nice. They have a low $10 corkage fee if you bring your own bottle of wine, which is nice. Good selection of craft beers.

We have been twice now and really enjoyed the eclectic decor and warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the menu has many interesting choices, they offer specials also. The food is overall very good - the veggie burger was delicious and the charcuterie plate was generous and perfect with a glass of wine! The fries were disappointing, too limp. They have a great bar and lots of unusual beers on tap. Prices are reasonable for the quality, service and ambiance.
