We wanted to try this place since it was from the movie "Rush Hour". The food was good, but they could have done a little more with the place given that it's a tourist spot-- such as having background music to listen to instead of the awkward silence. The prices were reasonable also.

Foo-Chow Restaurant, 949 N Hill St, Los Angeles, CA 90012 is a Chinatown restaurant that specializes in dine in and takeout, Chinese cuisine with excellent service and friendly staff. Restaurant prides itself for its modern interpretation of classic dishes and its insistence on only using high quality fresh ingredients. Almost full crowd on a Monday afternoon. To drink I had Tsingtao beer, which had a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water., which was Chicken with Hot Sauce. For lunch I had the White meat chicken, green bell peppers and red chilies in an aromatic soy-based sauce. Overall, the staff Friendly waiter, and the Chinese Restaurant was quick clean service. great for a fast lunch or a slow one.

This casual restaurant in Chinatown has very much made a name for itself Fort appearance in the movie Rush Hour. Although this may attract a lot of customers, the service is not on par with its publicity. Although the food is decent it is hard to find someone who can barely clearly understand the order which you are trying to place. If an order is done wrong it is hard to correct the meal or find any type of compensation for the error. Not being said, the restaurant has an overall decent appeal. If you're a fan of nostalgia then the restaurant is definitely worth checking out.

I took a group of international (including a Taiwanese) and American college students on a trip to Chinatown, and I selected this restaurant mainly because I knew they would get a kick out of eating where Jackie Chan filmed. The restaurant took my reservation for 9 earlier that morning with no problems, and we ate the basic dinner combination, with soup, shrimp, egg rolls, chow mein, and fried rice, plus 9 dishes that we all shared. The dishes were so abundant that we could have sufficed with half as many, leaving us stuffed and with lots of leftovers, enough to feed each student for another meal. But what you probably want to know is whether the food tasted good. The answer from all 9 was a resounding YES!!! As the other leader in the group said, each dish he tasted was the best! He has led many tours of Chinatown and tried different restaurants, but none was as good as this one. I will most certainly plan on using this restaurant in the future when I take groups to Chinatown!
