We picked this place based on reviews and we were not disappointed! It was a wonderful relief from typical Mexican food. Delicious flavors without over spicing it up. And a real bottle of Mexican Coke perfected the lunch! Very friendly staff!

When I used to asked coworkers and friends with Oaxacan ancestry where the best Oaxacan food was in town, invariably they would always mention Monte Alban. Probably one of the Westside's great hidden gems, this restaurant has become my go to for visiting friends and relatives from all over the US. I am a huge fan of Mole Negro, and theirs is the best I have encountered. They never fail to win over converts to this style of food, and the bonus is that it is only 4 blocks away, so we can just walk there!

I went this morning and the cup I was served coffee in was still dirty (really dirty) from previous uses. I told an employee and he didn't even apologize for the inconvenience or anything. After that I obviously wasn't able to enjoy my meal. Anyone who goes should really make sure that the plates, cups, etc are clean.
