This was a great place to go for a dinner to celebrate my mothers birthday. We brought all the kids with us so it was quite the crew. Two of the kids saw Mac and Cheese on the happy hour menu while we waited in the bar and locked in on that. Problem was they didnt offer mac and cheese as a kids meal in the dining room. The waiter was very accommodating though, he had them ring it up as the chicken tenders kids meal and substituted the mac and cheese. The oldest kid decided he only wanted to eat appetizers so we got a few extra, but they didn't fill him up since everyone was sharing them. Fortunately they were happy to allow him to share bowls of chili and soup from the salad bar that came with each of our four adult entrees. I had the shrimp scampi and it was great. I loved the salad bar, and tried several different combos. The only salad I didn't like was the Asian chicken salad, which didn't taste quite right. The kids were amazed by the views and wanted to look out the window all night. Overall this was a very enjoyable first dining experience at Orange County Mining Company.

We like to celebrate family birthday's here because the food is excellent, the view is excellent, the salad bar is great and the service is aleays very helpful. I ordered the Eastern Prospector (14oz New York steak) with mashed potatoes which also comes with all you can eat soup and salad bar. The steak was huge more like 16-18oz, so I cut it in half. I ate on half and still had the other half left with ally mashed potatoes for leftovers the next day.

Of course mother's day is a bad idea to go out to brunch. That being said, we waited over and hour past the reservation time. Many items ran out for long periods of time, lots of plates not cleaned properly. Maybe they shouldn't overbook so they can keep up, have food properly stocked, and clean utensils. Just saying. Of course, the view is great and the servers were running around, trying hard to keep up. Hence the 2 stars

I like this place the cooks and chefs are pretty darn good! Although whoever is taking care of the desert rocks to f****** house! You might take some extra precautions on the valet service. They're all a bunch of kids so do yourself a favor and stash all the belongings in the trunk inside of some kind of like unassuming Tupperware just be safe.

We come here every year for my mother's birthday, the salad bar is probably the best in Orange County. The filet mignon steak is amazing get it with blue cheese crumbles on top. Make sure to make reservations and Get There Before Sunset. If you get there before your reservation you can go in the bar area without purchasing anything and just sit and talk and chat or have a glass of champagne or a soda while you wait for your reservation and I'll come get you and bring you into the main dining area.
