We love the Hillstone in Denver, Colorado, our hometown, and frequent the location often. We decided to stop at the SF location for dinner while traveling. However, it's nothing like the Denver location. The recipes of our favorite entrees are quite different and the food quality is not as good either. The side of arugula they gave me for my burger was wilted and slimy. Some of the french fries were rock hard. The service was terrible and the prices are significantly higher than the Denver prices. A very poor experience. Will never go to that location again.

Loved the ambience of Hillstone. Live Jazz music and dim lighting. The food is amazing. I had the Hawaiian Steak, which was great. Service is above and beyond. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting SF and looking for a great eating experience.

We went there before 7pm, but they already ran out of crab cakes?! The Thai steak and noodle salad is just okay. Maybe I'm not used to the cold steak. Plus the BBQ pork ribs are too sweet. Overall the dinner is pricey, but you may like to hang out with friends at the bar or courtyard, and enjoy the live piano and cello performance here.

Artichoke heaven. Amazing smoked salmon. Great and fast service... (The fresh, light, hearty and tasty spinach dip was a mayor plus...even the home made corn chips!)

Absolutely outstanding ribs! Never had such decent ribs before. Also the ribeye was a dream according to my colleague. Nice ambiance and sympathic staff, will definitely visit this place again.
