I love Swabbies! It is fantastic for what it is; a great outdoor music venue, bar, restaurant and hang out spot. Very casual, family friendly, dog friendly. It's basically a big flat piece of dirt with picnic tables, mismatched patio furniture, two stages and some shade trees. There is a house which serves as bar and kitchen. The kitchen is rather small, so don't be in a hurry on busy days. They have killer fish and prawn tacos. 2 bars, and prices are reasonable. They usually have some drink special going on. Variety of live music acts from country, to rock, r&b and 3rd Friday reggae. Located just above the river, you can boat in and use the public dock, or drive in. If you take the Garden Highway, it's quite peaceful, but long. Your other option is to take Highway 5 to the airport exit and follow directions to the frontage road. The parking lot is small, but there is a park next door and some people park on the road around the corner. Since it's on the river, it's often a little cooler than the rest of Sac, and since it's on the river, mosquitoes can sometimes be an issue. They usually have spray available.

Had a great time here. The drinks are great. The chicken wings are really tasty. Staff is awesome. Great place to see any live band that you are in to. For outside venue its comfortable. And not a bad seat in house!

Went to see "Petty Theft" a Tom Petty tribute band. Got a cheeseburger and cesar chicken salad. Members of our group have peanut and shellfish allergies, the wait staff was very informative, helpful, and accommodating when helping us make our food choices. Staff was also attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. I will return to this fun establishment.

Great venue and good drink. However, the food reminds me of what drunker fraternity guys throw together at 2AM. It tastes like jarred salsa and the only thing saving the taco is the cheese skirt. When you're drunk the food may taste good.

Used to be a place where you could go and be somewhat loose. It wasn't hammered with the "in" crowd..Nothing fancy just a casual place to hang. Plastic cups baskets. Dusty and rough Seems it's caught on with a certain crowd and now you can barely walk in in a weekend... I'd rate it 2.5
