GOOD EXPERIENCE! My wife and I enjoyed an incredible lunch here last Saturday. This cafe had been recommended to me by a new friend and it certainly didn't disappoint. Our talented and polite server Diana made us feel like royalty with the most impeccable service we have ever experienced anywhere...and Diana was also looking after the entire cafe as well. Our meals tasted as good as anything we've tried with delicious fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. We didn't want to leave but we couldn't eat anymore amazing food. This is a must visit authentic Lebanese dining destination!

Only Lebanese restaurant I would say that actually makes food Lebanese style. I'm not talking about Mediterranean. I'm saying Lebanese. There's many great Mediterranean restaurants in La Jolla. Food is somewhat pricey but it's something I can live with if i get the food I want. If it is your first time, try their pizza. The experience is fun and you will probably enjoy the experience much more if you went with the pizza as the first time compared to kebabs or wraps. If it is your second time, I would say go for their entree. Entree is big enough for 2 people but if you are hungry, feel free to eat all of it on your own. If you decide to get their salad, be aware that they overkill you with salad meaning do not get more food unless you know for a fact you can finish it. With the salad, you might want to ask that they put half dressing since they put too much in my opinion. Salad is great but the dressing can be cut back. There's enough cheese that I would consider as not too much and not too little. (I don't normally eat cheese due to health reasons. I'm not lactose) they have wine and beer so don't think you will be missing out.

Let me be clear: I HATE cauliflower. HOWEVER, Amardeen's cauliflower is that amazing. It is literally the only cauliflower I will not spit out instantly upon tasting. And that is merely one dish on their menu. Their garlic sauce and hummus are some of the best emulsifications in San Diego, and would put that garlic sauce on (nearly) everything. Nonetheless, I completely trust Mark to put anything in my mouth. Their lentils are an instant transportation to my youth. I am not Lebanese or Middle Eastern, but the flavors dancing in the lentils brought up deep memories of my grandmother's cooking and energy decades ago. The long cook times break down the rough nature of the husk and allow the natural creaminess to cascade into my body.

LAZY IGNORANT STAFF! I phoned here today at 11.30am to book a table for 2 for my wife's birthday this Friday and a young woman answered the phone.I asked who I was talking to and without answering she put the phone down and answered another phone nearby. When she came back to me a few seconds later I asked her name again and she told me it was Olga.I then told Olga my wife and I have been there once before for lunch about 3 weeks ago and had a great time and I thought I should phone ahead to book a table for 2 for dinner this Friday for my wife's birthday because after our trip to the movies in La Jolla my wife selected Amardeen as our preferred dinner date.Olga said nothing except..."Can you ring back in 30 minutes" and hung up on me.Needless to say that is disgusting service and WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS CAFE!

This place is very good. The hummus is wonderful, as well as most other things I have tried. The kabobs are great. Service is very good. The price is quite expensive though, which is why I rated it lower. I guess because it is in la Jolla, so it should be expected. If you are in the area and in the mood, go here, but for less money there are places just as good in El cajon, etc.
