Their sushi is awesome. I have been going there over 18 yrs. The prices are very reasonable for what you order. The sushi rolls have the perfect amount of rice. I've been to sushi restaurants were you pay exorbitant prices and you get mostly rice very little items in them. I hate that. If I'm going to pay for a special role I don't want rice I want ingredients that they say will be in the items. Go here if you want awesome sushi. I live in Escondido California and travel down to San Diego so I can have the sushi I love!

Have not been back here in about 15 years. Still about the same, good food bad service. Went for lunch and got my food while my friend did not get his in a timely manner and he had to take his to go since we were there on lunch. He assures me they are usually quick, the cashier also said they had paper jams in the receipt and credit card machine, but the kitchen looked out of sorts. The fried calamari appetizer is as good as I remember. Will probably still go back and will update review if service improves on following visits!

Great little place. Good food. Good prices. Not chic or trendy. But nonetheless very popular. Sometimes crowded. But they manage to move everyone along. You order at the counter and then wait your turn to take a seat (mostly booths). Somehow seating magically opens up when your food is ready. I'm especially wild about the Ginger Salmon, but I've liked everything I've ever ordered. I thoroughly recommend you give this place a shot. .

Very tasty food for the price. Very friendly workers (always). The only thing I would recommend for improvement to keep those bottles on the tables in more clean condition.

Niban to me is Americanized Japanese comfort food. Nothing about this place really stands out as extraordinary, but everything is good, prices are decently fair, customer service is Pleasant. For a pleasant quick casual meal I think this place is a good one to add to your list.
