Good considering in San Diego. Haxe was cold in the center and deep fried rather than grilled. Baked Camembert was also cold inside. GREAT selection of German beers!

My reservation was December 30 at 545 and didn't get seated until 700. After seating took waiter 30 minutes to recognize us. Finally was able to order drinks and didn't receive for another 25 minutes. Was told the kitchen was getting slammed. Not enough servers. The hostess was the busboy. The occupant load for the restaurant is 90 people but there must have been 175 there between the dining room and bar areas. When the food finally arrived around 845 was good but not overly warm as if sat under a heat lamp for awhile. Didn't leave until 915 for a 545 reservation. Not the first time having to wait with reservations here but nothing like this. Any other time would give a 4 star for food and atmosphere. Will not be back.

I never write reviews, but felt this one necessary. We had reservations & sat at the bar to wait for our third person to arrive. The bartender was as nice as everyone we have encountered in the San Diego area & should have eaten there. Our waitress was quite the opposite. She seemed annoyed to have to wait on us. Although the food took a while, it was delicious. The guys second round of drinks took a long time too & I never received the applesauce I asked for after after my meal was served. You would think after receiving a 20% tip from my husband that would help her smile. Nope. I was embarrassed for lack of friendliness for the third party we invited to this establishment.

Food was really good. I would give it 5 and go there again were it not so overpriced. $30 for Jagerschnitzel? Come on. That is like $12 more than it should be.
