As all reviews note, the food is outstanding. The wait however is a bit frustrating. They obviously had more than enough staff, but we waited almost 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. In fact, one waitress had two tables next to is, but continually big it's us when we tried to wave at her. When a server did arrive, she was lovely, explaining the menu, and question of the day. So if you go, go with patience and a full wallet, because you will eventually get really good food, and it will cost a lot of money.

I wish I lived in San Diego just for this restaurant! Completely plant based menu. Amazing and friendly staff. Spectacular food choices that taste great! I will come here every single time I am in town. I cannot speak highly enough of this place.

I love the vibe of this place, and overall fantastic experience. However I had to take a star away for the pulled mushroom sandwich I got, which simply wasn't good. Some of the mushrooms had been over smoked?/cooked so they were extremely rubbery I couldn't even get through one bite at a point and had to get rid of it in my napkin. Besides the texture the flavor was overpoweringly smokey, and while the coleslaw on top was enjoyable, it was just creamy, and had none of the bright acidity I'm used to in a coleslaw, which is what that overall heavy sandwich desperately needed. The fries, drinks, salad we shared, and my boyfriends meal were all fantastic. Excellent service too! We were visiting SoCal and this was on my list of vegan places I HAD to try. I'd love to come back, I'll just order something different next time.

I'm the opposite of a vegan food consumer however I was of course being a good husband by going to Cafe Gratitude since it was a stop she definitely wanted to do while in SD. What a surprise for me!! It was awesome! For lunch that day we were: Eclectic (5/5), Mucho (4/5), Magical (5/5) and Glorious (4.5/5)!!! For dessert we were: Awakening (4/5) and Remarkable (6/5!) - this last one is a daily special which consisted on strawberry short cake... the best one. We also loved the concept of "question of the day" that makes you start a conversation about a topic selected by the restaurant. Thanks Cafe Gratitude! For sure we are grateful we had the chance to visit. Hope to do it again on our next SD Trip.

I like eating here but it is pricey. The service can be at a slower pace so it's best to come here when you have some time and patience. The employees seem nice but some of them seem a bit burnt out. I have mostly been here for breakfast and gotten the French toast with fruit. Their muffins are really good especially with the cream on the side. Parking can be a little tricky especially with the farmers market on Saturday.
