This was the very first time that I had ever eaten at one of these restaurants and it was fairly decent for fast food but still a bit iver priced for a burger. It was clesn and we'll kept and it was easy to get extra ketchup, etc. There wasn't a lot of variety on the menu and you were pretty much relegated to getting basically plain food.

Never understood why Fatburger didn't catch on in San Diego. The one in Pacific Beach was fine, and would seem to have been in a prime location; maybe poor management (the place was a bit seedy, like many beach joints). But, happily, Fatburger lives on in Escondido. The deal is the meat, old-fashioned, juicy, rough around the edges, and the fresh stuff on it. You just have to be a fan of old Foster's Freeze-type burgers, but higher quality. They really do it right. I have been eating at Fatburger since they opened their second shop in LA (converted the old Gingham Dog and Calico Cat on La Cienega at San Vicente), and its founder was one smart woman. She managed to build a franchise that remains at the highest quality long after its humble beginnings. Too hip for San Diego, I guess... Worth the sidetrack into deepest Escondido, if you get hungry before your first gas stop on the way North...puts the Shack, the Smash, and even the Guys in the also-rans. The Urge? Forget about it. Like a good Habit.

I fracking love fatburger! Between this and In n Out, shack shake can take a back seat! Get the large fat burger with the fat fries, you won't be disappointed!

Love this place. Delicious burgers, wish the one in Temecula was still open.
