My sister and I made a reservation here for 7:30 and arrived on time and the hostess went to check on our table so we sat down in the waiting area. After we waited 10 minutes someone else came in and was seated right away so we went back up and she had forgotten us because she asked “how can I help you?” We were sat and ordered our food. The appetizers were tasty but the entree was taking forever and after an hour the server informed us the kitchen lost our ticket and the food would be a while longer. In the meantime my sister went to use the restroom and it was horrifying. Toilet paper clogging 3 out of 5 toilets and a hamburger on the floor. The sink was also filthy. We are concerned that the employees most likely use this restroom. Before using the bathroom probably would have given 3 stars. This restroom is open to the public and is across the street from a beach. It was Memorial Day weekend so very busy beach so maybe usually not so nasty in the bathroom. Manager came and apologized for entree taking a long time and offered free desert but it was never brought or mentioned again. We asked for the entree to be comped and they complied after discussing.

I go to the Beach Chalet all the time! I do like the brew on tap there (their own) and of course, the beach across the street. Sometimes dine downstairs. Food is very good, pricey, but worth the extra for the view. Customer service is always excellent.

Beach chalet is the perfect restaurant for a nice occasion! Yummy seafood with an ocean view. And parking is easy. The park chalet is the sister restaurant in the back. One of my favorites after a bike ride in GGP or sunny day at ocean beach. More casual and family friendly. Great for a pizza and beer.

Just be clear, you come here for the ocean view and more generally the proximity to the beach. The food is good, but the quality doesn't match the prices. There is a smell in the restaurant, like maybe the carpets haven't been cleaned in a few years, and all of the spilled fish sauces have started to colonize. The staff are super friendly. They all seem pretty inexperienced though. This is not really a criticism of the staff; everyone has levels of inexperience. However, this place has an overall atmosphere of inexperience and lack of cohesion, suggesting a high turnover rate. Are they not paid well enough or treated well enough to stick around and get the experience? If this place were not next to the beach, I would only come if the prices were like 25% lower. It would be a place for decent food and a sort of charmingly casual atmosphere with stinky carpets. As it is, I still enjoy the pretty good food and friendly service, and I accept the unreasonable prices as the cost of the view. But with those prices, I do wish they'd clean the carpets better. Especially in the elevator, it really stinks. And I'm going to bet, the staff could use a raise.

First time to this location, after visiting the zoo. It was a great spot right across from the beach. We had a table right next to the window. It was 57 outside but we were baking. Blinds were down so had no view. 530 pm in may. We asked waiter to turn up air, he said they didn't have any and it gets much worse than this in the summer. Upon leaving we talked to several people standing in the stair well that were trying to cool off. Lots of choices in the menu but all 4 adults found the food sub par. We would not return or a give a referral .
