Kind of expensive for what you're getting but pretty delicious. The worst part is that since it is often so dead inside(likely due to location?) You often can hear the shrill cries of the staff, arguing, debating and waxing poetic on what meal they'll share to eat in that moment. Maybe they'll even forget your drinks because they own lunch is a more pressing matter. But, at least the food is relatively tasty. Not $50 I'd spend again but not an experience I regret. Definitely recommend if what you're looking for is averagely spiced Chinese food dressed up as super spicy fancy Asian cuisine.

Food was good overall but nothing really hit the spot. We got the the dry pot with pigs feet and pork intestine - it wasn't spicy enough and flavors didn't seep into the meat. Other items were just as average. We ordered: 1. Lamb fish soup 2. Duck and duck blood pot 3. Dan Dan noodles

An authentic Chinese restaurant in the real Chinatown, San Francisco it's range of dishes is always cooked beautifully, not overcooked. And there are some unusual delights, from pig's stomach to cuttlefish, from pig's trotters to squid balls. It's short on plastic American-Chinese fare, and the tastes are intense and satisfying.

My extended family went to Spices several weeks ago and hands down, it is one of the very best restaurants off of Clement. That is saying alot given how many authentic Chinese restaurants there are near Clement. My son in law grew up in China and he ordered for us and agreed, the food was exceptional. On top of the delicious food, the ambiance is way nicer than anything else in the area. Love this place. Our new Go TO!!
