Abalone was amazing, fresh and tender. Scallops large and delicious. Free glass of wine while you wait, a nice perk. The place itself is ancient and historic seeming in atmosphere. The sides overly simple with choices soup or salad, and choice of; steamed potatoes, fries, rice or vegetable. They give plenty of butter to flavor the steamed potatoes but this option was a first for me in a moderately priced restaurant. I scoffed at this the first time, but the seafood was so good I have gone back again and again.

This is an amazing restaurant. The fish is always fresh, and the staff is always friendly. They don't take reservations so be prepared to wait, but you get free wine while you wait so it's never a bother. The portions are massive and they always my girlfriend and I split dishes, although the food's delicious enough to finish a plate if you're hungry.

I can't rave enough about this place. We frequented Pacific Cafe when we lived in the city and make a point of getting here whenever we're in the bay area. It's wonderful, but I don't want to rave to much about it because I want to keep it my little secret. Good luck with that. Well if we have to wait to be seated, the free wine is more than a bonus.

Fun environment, you feel as it is a family run establishment. It's been a neighborhood secret for many decades, fantastic seafood, nice specials, great service. NO RESERVATIONS, however, if you wait, you will be greeted with a glass of house wine while you wait! Good folks, you will love the seafood.
