So I found myself in Oakridge Mall doing last-minute Christmas shopping, and I got to feeling hungry. Needless to say there are many choices in the food court, and I chose Smashburger in part because the line was relatively short.
Once I got my order placed, I waited around fifteen minutes for my order to come up. I got a create-your-own beef burger with cheddar, an order of Smashfries (basically regular french fries dressed with olive oil, rosemary and garlic) and a soda. The burger was decent, and definitely smashed; not totally sure how I feel about this. But I was truly disappointed in the fries. The only indication I had that they had been dressed as I mentioned earlier was that they were oily and had occasional green flecks on them. My best guess was the garlic was somewhere in the same building; I couldn't taste it at all.
On top of that, my food was barely warm, and I paid about thirteen dollars for all of this. Bottom line is, it wasn't so bad I'd never go back, but I won't go out of my way for it either. And at this price point, I think Five Guys is better (and frankly, they're overpriced too).
