Enjoyable bar and restaurant near the end of the public pier. Great views! Our dinners were prepared well and tasty. My Chardonnay was very good. Our server was helpful . . .continuing to describe the aboloney sliders until we gave her a smile of acknowledgement. Seafood, steak and shrimp are everywhere. Their menu and our selections offered unique versions of these items making for a taste treat. The prices were usual for the pier restaurants. We recommend Splash.

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant that I brought 20 people to on a Saturday night on March 31st. Even though some of our party did not arrive on time our server whose name I can't remember now ( a lovely young woman) was as accommodating as can be. They allowed us to break the check up 3 ways and shockingly, let us bring in 3 birthday cakes that they placed candles on and lit! They even recommended the Buttery which made fabulous pies and cakes for us. There was no deposit needed for this event and we were not sequestered off in a dark banquet room but had a beautiful view of the ocean. Our food came promptly and we never had to ask for a thing. The artichoke soup was so good I would return just for that. None of us live in the area so it was a fantastic experience. Every staff member I came in contact with in person or on the phone was professional and pleasant.

Great Service and Vegan Options We visited Santa Cruz for a few hours and everyone was looking for a restaurant that was vegan-friendly. We made it to Splash and saw they had a Veggie burger that could be made vegan and some vegan appetizers. Our server Daniel was Awesome and we enjoyed the view of the Sea Lions and the sunset. Will definitely go back soon!

Our 2nd time and again they impressed us. Sat in the rotating bar area this time which was a fun experience. Interesting that the overall noise level was minimal (Friday night) even though the place was almost full. Food again was excellent and our "Privateer" drinks were perfect. Our server was attentive and helpful. We'll be back!

I have read with disbelief the positive reviews for Splash - perhaps this boils down to the fortunate luck of who you get as your server. We were three veteran hospitality staff seated in the rotating seating section. We easily did a 180 degree rotation before we finally flagged someone down to take our drink order. Were we invisible? It was another 180 degree rotation before we had to flag our server down yet again to ask if our drinks were on their way; it was a good 15-20 minutes before we were greeted (by our own flagging) and another 15 minutes to ask about our drinks. The restaurant was maybe 3/4 full on a Tuesday night. Our server (he had long hair in a pony tail) was smug with us with a response the bartender was backed up and he was doing his best (I watched him shmooze a table of two with our drinks - two pints - sitting and waiting behind him. The bartender was not busy, and I witnessed another table in our section order drinks directly from the bartender and serve themselves. Our rude server returned with our flat beers with no explanation or apology as to why he continually walked past our drinks. He drops the beers and then finally returns with one pop soda which he poured himself at another section of the restaurant. At no time were we offered or given a chance to at least ask for water - if the bartender was so-called backed up (not). As expected, our food followed immediately upon receiving our drinks. Yikes. We all agreed this "dude" must have zero restaurant experience. Labour shortage in Santa Cruz? We tipped for the good food and ambience - cool eating on a wharf after all, plus we could see from our table how hard the dishwasher was working - unlike our lame server who scoops up the easy money in gratuities. We hope the tip pool ate most of the tip we left behind. This guy was our first impression of Santa Cruz. Very sad. Just sad.
