We've got a winner! My wife and I came to visit Santa Cruz from San Jose for the first time. All we knew to expect was the boardwalk. But we sort of just kept walking along the beach to see the lighthouse, and decided to have lunch nearby. The menu here is somewhat limited, it's in a temporary location due to construction, and the servers seem a little too relaxed. But boy oh boy, the calamari is good. We Also had the coconut shrimp. You can immediately tell they source top quality ingredients. The shrimp are massive and meaty. The tartar sauce is to die for. Even the lemons made me chuckle the way they exploded with juices at the lightest touch. You can taste the quality. I will definitely return if we ever come back to SC.

Love Aldo’s at the old location; this location is beautiful but they are out of a trailer so the service is slower but the food was the same. Toast was hard, but eggs were right. Didn’t have a wine selection but Bloody Mary was great. We’ll be back. Repairs for old location are still a couple years away. SUPPORT LOCAL!

While the harbor wall is being rebuilt, this long established restaurant still provides lovely views of the marina, though is only able to offer outdoor tables and seating. My low star rating is based on the fish and chips and chicken nuggets that my group ordered last week. The mobile kitchen might pose a few problems for the chefs, but surely a decent batter can be made anywhere. Ours was thick and hard, (not crisp and light), which detracted from the fish and completely overwhelmed the chicken nuggets - so much so that the children tried one bite each and refused the rest. Maybe Aldo's should take these items off the menu. After all, patrons of a waterside restaurant cannot be blamed for expecting fish and chips to be superb.

Such a great beautiful setting for breakfast/lunch. Tasty meal! You won't be disappointed.

Had a great experience at this little place. Staff was friendly and prompt, sat us quickly and served us quickly. Food was good as all 4 people in our party enjoyed our meal. Scenery only added to the dining experience. It was a great place to stop in to have a quick meal before we went whale watching.
