Unbelievably good! After an early evening hike in Henry Cowell Redwood State Park we were "starving". We saw the Empire Grill and figured: sure, basic family fare will do the trick. After having been waited on by wonderful dining room staff, we were floored by the superb food. Not just well prepared simple food, but the kind of food that you get from an experienced chef team that has trained at the highest level and adds deep flavor and subtle nuance to their creations. We both had the special, and that moniker fit the whole experience. We were vacationing from New Hampshire, and just might return some day to experience this diamond in the rough again. Hopefully by that time they are still there, and not off to the big city to earn the big bucks they deserve. ☆☆☆☆☆!

Diner/Pub type setting with lots of locals. Service was good. I had the burger. They take a temp for the burgers. I ordered medium rare and it came medium rare. Beer on tap here and video for sports.

Great place for casual dinner with excellently prepared classical comfort food served with large portions. Their sunset specials are terrifically priced and prepared. Steaks are wonderfully moist and tender, no steak knife required. Desserts are also good for sharing and delicious.

Empire Grill recently took over the old cowboy Diner spot. They've done a good job in creating their own space the food was good as well as the service. We had a rather large group pretty much everybody order something different. There were no complaints, no talking, just silent chewing, which is always a good sign.
