Been going here for years now, but today both my wife and daughter agreed that each time we had gone for the last couple years has gotten a little worse. The young lady at the check in seemed bothered by fact that the tables were full and we were making her take our name for the list. That was followed by our server today (Tamara I believe), who was friendly but distracted is the best word I can use. Started off the coffee cup on our table had what appeared to be a piece of wet wadded up napkin stuck inside, to which we received the excuse that the washer just does that sometimes. Then she spilled water on the people next to us, and she says "it happens sometimes", sounds familiar?! Then a couple comes in she obviously knows they get hugs etc, which is absolutely no problem, love seeing things like that, however our order didn't get put in, and Tamara once again says I didn't hit send and " no one bothered to remind me I had an order just sitting there", odd though that the couple she hugged their order went through?? Must have used the other computer than ours. Lastly she brings a box for my daughter and says have a great day and walks off, never giving us our check. After this last trip not sure we'll be back again, can't see spending money somewhere that seems to not really care. I gave 3 stars because we used to love going here but not so much any longer.

I'm so glad The Egg & I is in walking distance of where I live. If you don't know, I'm big into customer service. It's as important as the food. The second I walked through the door, my friend and I were greeted with, "Cool shirts, guys!" We didn't realize it, but we both were wearing Star Wars shirts. When I told them my shirt matched my Vans, that set them over the edge (in a good way). Everyone was so friendly. I'd like to commend our server, but unfortunately, I didn't catch his name. On the receipt, the name listed is "The Egg & I", and I'm sure that's not his given name. I order a breakfast burrito and in two words, it was simply amazing. Oops. That was more than two words. I should have paid more attention to the list of ingredients, because I didn't realize there were potatoes in the burrito in addition the side of potatoes. I guess I needed to carb-up before going to the Sabroso Beer, Taco and Music Festival in Denver later that day. But I digress. The burrito was really good. Lots of ingredients and I am McLovin' the green chili sauce here in Colorado. So, kudos to our server, the chef, and the friendly staff. That's why I gave The Egg & I five stars.
