Escape the gritty city into this impeccable restaurant. Bar in front, quiet restaurant behind provides an evening respite from a harried day. The service is mature and professional, never rushed. Meals are beautifully plated, echoing the elegant, but not overstated decor. The menu changes often enough to avoid boredom, but not so good free you cannot repeat an excellent meal.

The food was good but I think overrated and expensive for what it was. Based on the reviews I was expecting phenomenal food but I got basically good food and fine dining prices. The extra star is for the service which was great.

Overall, it was a fantastic dinner. I would dine here every time I'm in DC! Their escargot appetizer was divine. The flavors were incredible and I can still taste it now, two days later as I'm typing this review. I got their scallop entree and I NEVER eat scallop. I just had a gut feeling it would be amazing, and my gut was RIGHT! My boyfriend got the duck entree, which was just as good! LOVED IT!

A fine menu. No charge for the frisson from sitting at a table next to the great and the good from the Hill.
