Usually very good experiences but most recent was a disaster. (1) Called Culinary Manager last Tuesday and scheduled a surprise birthday party on Saturday, 3/24 buffet style for 12 people for my wife's 50th birthday. We went over the entire menu @ $30.00 per person, was assured they had semi-private area where are dinner would be enjoyable and a great celebration. (2) Called General Manager on Friday, 3/23 to confirm all details. Everything was set with guests to arrive 7:00 pm. They would be seated at our tables and we would arrive 7:15 pm . Was told by General Manager that he and Culinary Manager would both be there that evening to ensure a successful outing. (3) Saturday 3/24 rolls around at 7:00 PM. My guests arrive and are told my Marquise (another manager in charge that night) they NOTHING was written in the book for reservations and if we want a private party then we need to go to the BRANDON location. Thankfully one of the guests was assertive enough to get into action and get some tables thrown together in a secluded areas so they could be out of sight when we arrived. (4) I am in on this as I have received several texts from guests telling me what's going on. We enter and asked to be seated to our area and the host says out loud, " Your friends are waiting for you back there." The surprise is ruined. (5) The kitchen staff must have hurriedly thrown together the prearranged buffet style menu as the salad, main dishes, and bread are brought to the table at one ALONG with to go containers. Twenty minutes later the decadent chocolate cakes arrived - - except it was a plate of brownies with chocolate syrup poured over it. And a bowl of whipped creamed was added for garnish. (6) Kudos to the ONE waitress that frantically ran back and forth trying to keep everyone served. She was the only bright spot of the evening. Sorry Romano's Macaroni Grill on North Dale Mabry - it will be a long time before I talk myself into stepping into your front door or picking up carry out again.

1st date with wife almost 23 yrs ago. Had anniversary dinner here 16 years later. Still amazing service and quality. Unfortunately the wife didn't last as well as this place, so I'll be bringing the new GF to this amazing establishment just because it's so good. And my kids LOVE it too. 11, 12, 17, and I'm 43. Something for all.

We love taking our 12 yo who has autism to Mac Grill. The staff and chefs are amazingly sweet to him. They will create special dishes for him because of his acid reflux and always check to see if he likes it. They also let him watch them cook and gave him a chefs hat! We always have a nice time with good service. We have never noticed unclean conditions at our table and believe me, I would notice! To those of you who claim to have seen roaches - if you live in Florida and cook food you have roaches too!! No, the food isn’t 5 star, but it is good and affordable. I love the Shrimp Portafino.

Enjoyable food. Friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Prices were a little higher than a similar-tier restaurant, but probably worth it. Would definitely go again.

Normally if I have a bad experience at a restaurant I would never even say anything. But this time I have to make an exception the service was absolutely atrocious so much so we didn’t even stay for the drinks to arrive we were greeted with a cold shoulder and it only got worse from there. All I’m saying is say your money you’ll thank me for it.
