Awesome place. Great lunch specials. Mackerel sushi is top notch.

My favorite Japanese restaurant in the Tampa Bay area. I've been eating here for 20 years! Obviously the food is excellent and always prepared fresh and served artistically. The menu is very extensive but I especially enjoy sushi chef Paul's sushi/sashimi creations. Although their dishes are competitively priced and often a bit more reasonable than other Tampa/ Brandon,Fl. area Japanese restaurants, in the last few years they've added a value sushi menu which is especially marvelous for the dishes listed. I particularly enjoy their sushi/sashimi meal for one (or a larger version for two people), served creatively on a miniature fishing boat serving plate. Paul adds a few delicious seaweed and shredded vegetable salads on the "boat" with the fish, and the meal also includes a traditional salad with ginger dressing and miso soup, all for $16.95! Other sushi dishes I love are hamachi, fresh salmon and escolar nigiri and custom hand rolls, and their signature "Volcano" sushi with spicy tuna & crab, baked in a toaster. Give Tokai a try, you'll be delighted.

If you are a fan of sushi you will like it here. Good service. Good people. I'm just not a fan. But at least I tried it.

Great service! I love all their sushi and salad too. This place is perfect for a quick lunch or dinner and very relaxing atmosphere.
