Despite dislike for writing negative reviews for famed places, we all should be always striving for improvements. When I visited New Orleans last week, my friend told me about getting hand kissing treatment for his wife and lady guest from Europe at their table and got served good food too, apparently a beautiful night that left good impressions on him at Andrea’s. He was happy he had discovered a good restaurant. When three of us men showed up in our casual dresses at the restaurant to repeat my friend’s experience without the hand kissing of course, we got this strange unwelcome look from the staff like we didn’t belong there. Perhaps they thought we wandered there and could not afford the expensive and small quantity plates. We ordered wine and food and they probably realized they were wrong. When ordering my food, I explained in details that I was not having meat but “if possible” I would like to have a no meat combination plate of regular Italian foods to compare the taste with my memories elsewhere. After around half hour I was delivered a plate with a few pieces of fried eggplant and broccoli etc which made me wonder about the qualifications of the waiter. I explained again and I was provided with a plate of ravioli and mushrooms which I could have ordered from the beginning. We paid the big bill plus 20 percent tip to be principled customers. With all due respect, how would you feel if you were on a trip in New Orleans expecting a pleasant night out?

One fabulous meal in a relaxed, beautifully decorated restaurant. Haven’t been here since before Katrina. Chef came out to greet us. I had the grilled Snapper. Beautifully done in a delicate wine, butter broth. FABULOUS! Thanks chef. Ya still got it !!!!

Andrea's is such an icon. It was the first huge fine dining restaurant to open in Metairie. He created an authentic Capri Blue Bar, since he's from Capri. His Italian cuisine is also authentic. The best pasta anywhere. The seafood dishes are fresh & delicious. Try his Italian deserts. Especially the Italian cakes. He has his own wine label made with grapes from Italy. It is a beautiful restaurant.

Went there for my 34th anniversary and the food was wonderful. The staff there really cares about your experience. Highly recommend anyone to try it. The general manager Tia is great and one of a kind. Thanks Tia for a great dinner.

My family can here randomly because we wanted some pasta/seafood and didn’t want to deal with the crowds of New Orleans. We were very surprised with the service and the food. Excellent.
