This is an AMAZING restaurant. I wasn’t sure because the photos on google don’t do it justice. It’s small but comfortable enough to have enough conversation room (aka you’re not eating on top of each other). Things are appropriately priced and well seasoned! I do recommend reserving a table though open table no wait! Props to Carrie for being the sweetest waitress!

We went for dinner, which has some quirky options. I got the crabs cakes, which were different but decent (not your typical Maryland crab cakes, so be forewarned). Service was a bit slow, but it was prom night, so giving them the benefit of the doubt. Will definitely go back for lunch to try the soups!

Outstanding little spot with an upscale feel to it. Burgers were incredible and the duck fat fries packed a flavorful punch. The creme brulee comes with a spun sugar topper that's both photogenic and tasty. Wait staff was attentive and helpful both in explaining menu options and taking special requests. If we weren't considering relocating to the area in the future, we are now thanks to our dining experience at Black Kettle!

Have had some mixed experiences here. It's a great place to go during the week for a quick drink, as long as it's not busy. However, the times we sat down for food were disappointing. The menu items are hit or miss, and indicative of a chef who is trying too hard. For instance, the burgers were great, but things like the french onion meatball (inedible)and duck fat fries (soggy) were just not up to par. We dined here last week, sitting at the bar, and it was clear that the bartender was weeded. He was denied a bar-back when he asked, and was struggling to keep up with the table orders, so service at the bar was almost non-existent. Once we did get our food, it took 10 minutes for another employee to being us silverware, even though the bartender had asked him multiple times.

The best crab cake I had the pleasure of eating. Try the smoked whiskey drink it will blow your mind. Normally you would think a great date night due to ambiance and attentive service. But give it a shot for lunch and you won't be disappointed. Another gem in establishing downtown Catonsville as a dining powerhouse.
