Unfortunately this location is closest to where my boyfriend lives, so this is the one we frequently go to. We tried the one in Arlington and I would give them 5 stars. The portion size is significantly different in both locations- I always finish my bowl at this location and I’m still hungry after, but when we went to the Arlington location I had to take some some because I was so full. I feel like every Tokyo Joe’s should be consistent with their portion size, especially when I’m paying $10+ for one bowl. If we could avoid this location we would, but it’s more convenient to visit this one. The staff always seems like they are in a bad mood also. Good food, just poor portion sizes for your money.

My wife and I arrived at the Fort Worth location and there was no line we had to wait about five minutes before anyone would acknowledge us. We placed an order for a build your own bowl and two rolls the bowl came out very quickly which was nice and she said our role would come soon. It has now been 30 minutes the rolls are here. No apology for the long wait. Just placed the rolls on the table and turned to quickly get back to the counter. The food was excellent. Just wished I could have enjoyed with my wife. Watching her eat then she watch me eat was not what we had planned. Food alone I would rate 4 stars. Work on better customer service.

Overall I had a good experience with Tokyo Joe's waterside location. It was my first time trying their food and I placed an order online for pick-up. I thought I had selected my pick-up time for 5:30 as I chose it twice in the process but when I got my confirmation email it showed pick up time for 4:50, I didn't get off work until 5 and with travel time it would have taken me the 30 minutes to get to this location so that was a bit disappointing. When I picked it up though I was impressed by the atmosphere and cleanliness of the location. The food when I got home to eat was overall good, nothing over the top but just good. I don't know if it was because it was ready 40 minutes before the time I wanted (still warm though!) but I will be back to try it for dine-in as their menu is what caught my attention & will update my review if needed. Worth giving it a try if you're not in the mood to cook.

The service is iffy. Some of the employees can be rude but some are really nice. I guess it just depends on which day you go. Also, the manager needs to schedule people better because when it’s slow and they only have 2 people working it takes forever for the food to come out. The food is great though. They have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options (I am vegan) and it’s awesome. Overall I would say eat here but just be weary that it might take a little for your food to come out.

Yummy poke bowls and bento boxes, just wish there was a little bit more variety to choose from. It’s nice to have these options on this side of town at all, so hard to complain! Never had an issue with service - especially enjoy how prompt the pickup and online ordering services are.
