I was so utterly disappointed in the food. The place is really inviting and really pretty decor. However the food is just not worth it. The average plate cost is about $15.00 so I was expected something better than Taco Bell. However the food was just tasteless: extremely salty, super greasy, I am 100% sure they use MSG in their food, defiantly microwaved, not fresh. I threw up the whole night. Avoid go somewhere better.

Great service and value. Managers go out of their way to make you feel at home! Fajitas for 2 are very well served!

Good solid Tex-Mex with good service. plenty of unique menu items, and moderately priced. It's a chain but this location is very good.

Abuelo's on Hwy75 always seem to have really good food. There were times I've had to get my coke or water glass switched due to stuff floating in my drink or glass not clean. Only getting 3 stars since the waiter failed to remember our order of tortillas, failed to get the glass of ice for tea that he delivered with only a few ice cubes, AND failed to put our flan to go with the to go order that he charged us for. As we asked someone who looked like a manager to get our flan, we had to share our experience was not the best and actually was the worst we've had. She quickly got our flan to go while apologizing and made it right. Kudos to a manager who cares and did the right thing! We do plan to return but will ask for another waiter if we get him next time. We usually have about a 50/50 chance of actually getting a decent waiter or waitress. Hopefully Abuelo's starts getting enough feedback to take it seriously and upgrade the wait staff that has GOT to go. Again, WAY too many other options as Chuy's is just a few restaurants away on the same street and we do enjoy very much. Both have great food and drinks but actually bad/lazy waiters WILL keep people from returning as well as not get referrals and not so good reviews that more and more are sharing.

I have eaten at this Abuelo's for many years, The experience has been great most of the time, most of the time you don't even have to wait unless it is very crowded, and they hand you free chips and salsa while you wait for your meal. however, they don't provide a low calorie section of the menu for people trying to be on a certain type of diet, I usually order a Durango burrito, which is about 700 calories, but I would like a section of the menu that includes dishes that are under 600 calories. the restrooms are very clean, no issue with that. I will be coming back over and over again.
