Fantastic home-style American comfort food. Poultry, beef, pork, fish and shellfish. Their chicken-fried steak smothered in gravy is a specialty. Always beautifully prepared, perfectly "à point" as the French say, and absolutely scrumptious. Waitstaff and bartender are exceptionally gracious and anxious to please. Bar well-stocked. Great nostalgic, "1940's roadhouse" decor... and it's REAL, not staged. Very much a family place, though small children shouldn't be allowed to run amok. Smart casual recommended. Highly recommended.

The only good things I can say about this place: decorations are unique and interesting and our waiter was so nice! It was hot, and I mean HOT, inside the restaurant. We swatted flies and gnats away from our food the entire time, and our food was not cooked to order. I chose a steak and asked for it to be cooked how the menu recommends, but it was not even close. Definitely not a steak worth remembering, nor was it worth $25.00. One and done for visiting the place. The fried chicken did not have any flavor: just flour batter with spice. Not worth the trip!

Fried chicken is fantastic. I had the telapia which was prepared perfectly. Fun family spot with good service, drinks and bar, and excellent country coming meals. They fried chicken is their specialty, but the daily specials are excellent, particularly the meat loaf and turkey platter. Just like Thanksgiving.

I have never given a restaurant a review online as I understand we all have bad days. But please save yourself some money and go down to the much better welfare cafe down the road. Took my mother here today for mother’s day and had the WORST experience we have ever had. Waitress came to serve waters and take our order and didn’t come back for an hour, we genuinely thought her shift ended and she had left. Food was cold, management handled the situation terribly as everything was full price and there was no acts of care for their customers coming back to give them another try. Stay away from this place!!

This was a pretty good sit down restaurant. They have a bunch of older styles picture plates on all the walls through out the building that sport different areas of the world on them. It's a little on the expensive side, but the food was great. We bought chicken wings off the appetizer menu thinking of just standard size wings compared to any other restaurant and boy was we surprised of the size. These wings were huge and tasted delicious! The next time i am in Texas I will be stopping by to get some more of the soul food they serve. The sweet tea was absolutely great too.
