The food was great. Service was marginal. My favorite item there is the gyro. Delicious! I've also tried the philly cheese steak and it's pretty good as well. Tried to call in my order ahead of time but after letting the phone ring many times, without an answer, I finally drove there to order.

IF YOU ARE VEGAN/VEGETARIAN READ THIS! You might not initially think this restaurant would be a great place to go as a vegan/vegetarian (they have a lot of fish and bbq meat options) but it is a secret downtown Anchorage cheep vegan-food hack! They have a big portion of red beans and rice (for only $6!) that is very filling and delicious. You can also add different veggies to this for a very reasonable price. If you are looking for something cheep, veg, and hearty in downtown Anchorage, this restaurant is a great spot.

where do I start...., first of all, their food all sounds good and looks good! but its a disappointment, I got their BBQChicken for $17.00, it comes with either dinner roll or Corn Muffin and two sides. So I got Corn muffin with white rice and fried Okra. the chicken was not cook all the way, I had to cook it when I got home, corn muffin was super dry! and oh, the white rice....!! I barely got any. so pitiful, I'm Asian I love my rice, the whole plate was disappointing, I will never go there again!! The only good thing on the plate was the fried Okra!!

Delicious, rich testing Cajun and BBQ, some if the best in town. Had the gumbo and it was fantastic tasting, perfectly spiced. The slow cooked sides to the main dishes are also great. Only complaint was the food came out a little slow.

I'm SHOCKED this place has so many good reviews. I'm from the South and was excited to see a Southern/Soul Food place to eat in Anchorage. I went for lunch one day and the service was so slow, even though there were only a couple of tables. The staff were nice, but there's no reason it should've taken so long, and I'm a pretty patient and understanding person with waiters because I know it's a hard job. The food was BLAH, no flavor. I would not recommend Roscoe's to anyone. While it looks like lots of people have had a good experience, if you're going to go, proceed with caution.
