I was very shocked to find out that this place was located right next to Crenchsaw-Baldwin Hills Mall. It's tucked away on the side next to the parking deck. This is a lovely place and the FOOD! One word - WOW. Everything was great here. The collards, the mac and cheese, the cornbread. The portions are large and the prices are very good. They have intimate patio seating with a little fire pit lounge space. You will see several African American celebrities who frequent here. I will be back. You can bring large parties as well. They have plenty of space.

The host rude. It seems like he had no respect for anyone black at a soul food restaurant. He gave attitude. Ignored people. Told us we could order from the happy hour at a table and then took it back. Did not offer us anything for the mix up. We were there to eat and drink before the black panther movie. Totally understaffed. If you know A multimillion dollar film is playing be prepared for people to eat at your establishment. Paid 133. Plus 25 percent tip for bad service burnt chicken a dry porch chop and dry cornbread. The only thing good was the deviled eggs and chocolate caramel cake. Mac and cheese a staple of black cooking was dry and not enough to cheese. No flavor. My white husband cooks with more soul and I'm a personal chef. Will never go back for sub par food. You should know better and better better.

Ok food, ok service. #fishgrits #deviledeggs #steaks I asked the server if the lights work that’s in the trees, crickets, no response. Guess not. Mac and cheese, horrible. Black eyed peas, horrible. Fish and grits were good, Pinot Gris was good. Steak was decent...
