Really fantastic Italian food, great family atmosphere, decent wine list....Chef owned and operated who cares about his local patrons as much as visitors to Valley Center. A hidden Gem for sure. Unique flavors, not your typical Italian eats, but a step above. Well worth a visit if you are anywhere near. One of my 'go to' places to dine at whenever I am visiting my mom who lives in town there. 😁 Just go, you won't regret.

I love a mom and pop restaurant, and places like Portinos is why. We arrived around 8 pm, the booths around the perimeter of the dining room were full, but tables were open. We were sat quickly by the only server. Even though she must have been busy, she gave us attentive relaxed service that I appreciate. The lobster bisque is really good but the homemade sausage is worth coming in for. As my friend said "it has the kind of light smokey flavor that gives you memories". Wow, right? The man cooking not only brought us our food but tried to give us a pizza as we were leaving because my friend is too skinny! Haha! Ample parking on the side and in the back. And they have take out.

Great food. Friendly service. We get take out. But the dining room looks nice. Cozy and friendly. Great pizzas and other nicely prepared standard Italian dishes.

Great cannelloni. Excellent pizza. Fresh salads. Multi-generational family owned restaurant (family not Italian, but you would never know it by the authentic food they serve). The only thing I'd recommend is please change the music. It's hard to digest Pop, Rap or Jazz when you're eating Italian food, in an Italian restaurant, sitting next to pictures of old school Italians cooking pasta and serving pizza. Really messes with the ambiance.

Great place to sit for a bit, or have a quick bite, if your in a hurry to get somewhere. We bought a slice for four fifty, and we're impressed by both the serving size and how good it was. I feel like the same thing in San Diego would cost about four more dollars and take twice as long(it only took them 5 minutes to make, but I could be wrong. The best part though is the customer service, I believe the server was named Enrique and he got us waters while we waited knowing we would not be there long and was kind enough to make a little small talk and be sure we were taken care of.
