One of the best samosas in the bay area. These guys make it fresh for u, so it's best to call before going in and let them know the exact no.

Amazing. While many places claim to be punjabi but they fall short of being punjabi. The whole ambiance of this place is Punjabi. From its frank, talkative and friendly owner to the lay out of the shop. It is like walking into a small shop in Punjab. For some people this can be off putting but for Punjabis this feels like home. The food is also another great story there samosa, gajrela, and bhatura everything feels authentic and unruined by american influence. The food packs the authentic flavor and punch of punjab. With no compromise on things like ghee. Also there gulab jamun and other sweets are fresh and simply decadent. So hope if you are in bay area and getting nostalgic for those samose back home. Totally recommend this place. Also tandoori fish is bouje. My father really loved it too but need to be preordered and not on the menu.

My husband and I just moved in to the area and have been passing by this sign that says Sagar Sweets & Restaurant so I decided to Google it. Being a huge fan of Indian food, I was so happy to find out I live next to one! I read the reviews of course but didn't let myself be discouraged by the negative reviews as some people did seem to like it. The food is different from the usual Indian food I've had but I do enjoy the flavors and I like that I can actually taste real ingredients. The owner was very nice to give us mango lassi on the house while waiting for our take out order since they only served it if you dined in. I like that it isn't too thick and it's definitely perfect with any dish! He also gave us a generous sample of the Punjabi Curry which I'm very thankful for because it's now one of my favorite things here. Oh and of course, don't forget to order the samosa! It is fresh and crispy and flavorful! I normally have a low tolerance to spicy foods but despite most dishes being spicy, I'm happy to tolerate it because the flavors are so worth it! This is definitely going to be a go-to spot for me.

Delicious food with a typical warming Punjabi hospitality. Samosas are my favorite here. Sometimes you even get free Jalebis with them 😉
