City BBQ you are the REAL MVP! For those of us in Ky who greatly appreciate good sweat tea, this place is for you. It doesn’t stop there... This chain has so much hospitality and does so much for the community, I always feel at home here at city BBQ, shouldn’t a country boy feel at home when eating BBQ? My favorites here are the potato salad w/ brisket. That brush fire sauce is on point too, so much flavor it makes you want to smack your mama! Seriously tho, great food and friendly service. Management has done an incredible job with this team! Thank you for the free congratulatory cake!!!

I have loved this restaurant for years, but my last two experiences at this location have proven the food inconsistent and overpriced. When the to-go bag entered the car, it smelled FISHY not rich, juicy, and delicious as I anticipated. I am very disappointed that I probably won’t be going back to one of my favorite restaurants. The brisket was fatty and bland, the green beans had so much black pepper on them, it looked like a crust. The pepper was all I could taste. The corn pudding broke my heart! It was literally floating in grease and was half burnt, and BLAND. Then there was the final straw...The peach cobbler (which I usually LOVE!) seemed like torn up biscuits with extra butter and sugar, and then peach jam dumped on top. It seemed old. Very disappointed!...And for just two to-go meals of this quality was OVER $30!

Wonderful food with top-notch service. The first time I visited this restaurant, I had a short wait for my fries. After a few minutes of waiting, I went back to the counter to see if I hadn't heard my order number. The server let me know that the last order of fries came out overdone and they had dropped another order. She offered me free dessert to make up for the wait and I ordered the peach cobbler. She brought a humongous cobbler to me in a to-go container, and was eager to know if she could do anything else to help. So, I have been back twice in the last month, bringing my friends along as well. We have been impressed on both visits, and have tried the brisket, pulled chicken, smoked sausage, mac and cheese and the potato salad. All of these items have our seal of approval, and the sauces on offer are fantastic as well. If you're looking for some good barbecue in Lexington, look no further than City BBQ!

Accustomed to Memphis’ Famous barbeque, I’m always a bit cautious when eating any other. I stumbled into City Barbeque while traveling and decided to give it a try. Both the food and service were outstanding!!!! I would definitely recommend if ever in Lexington, KY.

It is a self serve restaurant, you place your order, you pick it up , you box your leftovers, and bus your table. Even with all that, and being Pricey, the Food is wonderful! The sides, especially the potato salad, and baked beans are so good! The pork is smokey and just right for a Bbq sandwich! fyi..they have a condiment bar..tons of sauces, onion, pickle. etc.
