We came on a Sunday, and got the buffet. The selection and quality of food was outstanding as always. Unfortunately, the service was not up to the standard for this restaurant on this visit. We had to ask for our drinks and refills, and I had to wait over 15 minuets for our check. Which is very surprising to me. We have always received wonderful service and food at Shakespeare. I will add that the manager did come over to apologize, and did comp us a couple of coffees for the wait. This certainly will not be my last visit here since this is the first time we have ever had less than great service. This is also the reason I rated my experience with 3 stars and not lower. I would also recommend making reservations. A lot of their tables are the bar top height. So if you would prefer a regular height table, I would specify this when you make your reservations.

The food is great. Ambiance is wonderful. The service is abhorrent and I never post poor reviews. Ever. 2 hours and 40 minutes. We got 3 rounds of drinks and never got served food. We had to leave and they couldn’t separate checks. I recommend going elsewhere and it pains me to say it. Also, not being served food, and we had to pay for it.

Tremendous place! I absolutely loved it. Classy, Sophisticated, Enormous Space, Spectacular View (great for the summer time), Well-Manner and warm-hearted staff. They know how to make you feel welcomed! A waiter there named Brady. Fantastic worker! Ask for him when you go there and you won't regret it. The menu is extensive with a wide variety of meals. This place is great for a nice breakfast, or a hefty lunch, or even a fancy evening dinner. A MUST in Lexington, KY! GO TRY IT!

I have been here twice and have had nothing but excellent service. Our first visit we had Trey and he was an incredible bartender and server. He was charismatic and accommodating. Tonight we had Trent and he was attentive and professional. I hope to make this a regular date night stop along with taking friends here when visiting from out of town.

Food trickled out. Not really great value. In particular the shrimp and avocado sandwiches featured much harder bread and less shrimp than usual. We've had better experiences here. Update: AVOID AVOID AVOID. A year later, even worse now. Very slow service, staff confused, clueless manager going table to table making buddy buddy comments but not actually fixing anything.
