The food was ok..I guess. the beans are spicy, so my kid didn't want to eat them. No one told us..even though they knew it was for a kid. Who does that to beans anyways?! The patio area is wonderful, especially if you have kids.there is a giant chalkboard they can play on, and people come with their dogs. Probably a wonderful place to have a drink and watch your kids play.

Food is awesome. The plates are huge so you could definitely share. Love the patio area when the weather is nice. Dogs are allowed on the patio which is really cool. Price is a little higher than what I was expecting for the place. Parking is a struggle but they have satellite lots under the overpass.

Perfect Mexican-esque...not quite texmex, not at all authentic, but whatever it is it's great. Daiquiris are a good reason to visit by themselves. Bar is good. The patio is amazing and it's dog-friendly!!! The staff are always super nice and attentive. My only gripe about this place is how lots of adults who are parents use it as a day care for their kids. Please don't let your children run around screaming and running into other tables, etc. Other people are also trying to enjoy their time there.

Zippy's is as advertised: a college-style bar and Mexican food joint with a bar and reasonably-priced food. Outdoor seating was a plus. I went to Zippy's because Eater listed it as one of the best spots in Baton Rouge. Unfortunately, I just wasn't impressed. The food was below average. Nothing special about the chips and the burrito ingredients were typical.

Not really sure about the food but the service was unbelievably bad. Just don’t go at 9:37 and expect to be served. They close at 10:00. The people at the counter were very rude and said “are all of these f@@king people come in here right now”. We were a party of 10 people. If the manager would like to contact me, I would be glad to explain what happened. If the manager was the person that was rude then please do not contact me. Maybe they were just tired and having a bad day, but do not be rude to my family!
