Been going here for many years. This time had a very bad experience. Went on a Saturday night around 8pm. We first go to the one with parking lot. Was told that they were no longer seating for the night. Went across the street and we were seated in about 45 min. After sitting no waiter comes for about 15 min. Finally some other guy comes and takes our order. It takes long time to get the food. Wife ordered lobster and they forget the utensils. No one comes to even check on us. So I had to go get utensils myself. For price we paid it would be nice to get better service.

My absolute favorite place to go for seafood. Their food is deicious. The staff is attentive. My favorite dish is the paella for 2, it is the go to for my husband and I. Although I imagine everything off of their menu is delicious. There usually never a wait. If the tavern is full you can easily walk across the street to the peninsula which is the same restaurant.

I'm surprised this place has gotten such good reviews. I came here with a party of 10. The steak was fatty, and the food was honestly not worth the $30 price tag. Subpar for the price, except the fish which was overall decent. At the end, they didn't even have certain desserts. Why put it on the menu if it's not available? Also, the service was pretty bad and slow, and the bathrooms were dirty. Maybe they changed owners in the last month, cause this place really wasn't as great as previous reviews state.

Have been here before and was very disappointed in this visit. Possibly not good to arrive 9:30 for dinner. Service was slow the papas fritas were stale not cooked properly the bread was hard. Rack of lamb was disappointing. The appetizers of shrimp with garlic was fine. Too many Portuguese restaurants in Newark not to enjoy a meal
