Roman's features a daily-changing menu that highlights fresh, local ingredients in italian-leaning dishes occasionally underpinned by classical french techniques. One if the most impressive meals I've had in a while just based on the technical execution of a difficult menu with the added challenge of changing it daily! To complement the meal is a variety of Italian aperitivi and a great wine selection. I tried an orange wine for the first time and was in awe. Service is great - they got us in an out for our show at BAM in about an hour - and gratuity is included. Will go back for the $75 chef's tasting menu when we have a bit more time.

Great food, very good service, nice place. Will definitely go there again. Even if the portions are rather small.

Always great. Year after year. One of the city's unique restaurants. Great cocktails, food is always rotating, menu changes within a few minutes at times. We had a ribollita a few weeks ago, the best we ever had, no meat but was meaty tasting and filling, flavors were so concentrated and balanced.

We ordered the Fava Bean Purée for an appetizer. It was incredible, smooth and decadent. For an entrée we ordered the Braciolone and the Baked Paccheri. Both hit the spot, and I would highly recommend the Paccheri, as the melty/crispy cheese on top was an extra delight. For desert we had a tart grapefruit almond sorbet dish. Whoever they have in the back is an artist— the menu is always different, and always to die for! It doesn’t hurt they pay their workers a living wage either! Tips are not welcome here, and the staff is friendly as ever.

Roman's is the sort of neighborhood restaurant you wish was around your way! Absolutely delicious food, warm but un-intrusive service, seasonal menus, convivial atmosphere. It can be hard to get a reservation. I suggest going early, and taking a walk around the neighborhood afterwards. Historical Brooklyn trees, flagstone sidewalks, and impeccably preserved stately houses abound close by. Roman's sister enterprise, Shewolf Bakery, provides the bread, so don't brush it aside when it hits the table. The pastry department here also makes some of the best ice cream in NYC, so save a wee bit of room for a scoop or two!
