Sonny's has been the number one barbecue chain in America for two years running (2016-18). I eat here all the time and as much as I love all of the other barbecue restaurants in Charlotte, for me Sonny's is number one. The smoked turkey is excellent (we purchase a whole turkey to serve at Thanksgiving), the baked beans are the best in the world and I love the garlic bread as well. The atmosphere is a little more like a chain, but it is very nice, clean and attractive. When I'm on my deathbed, I've told my kids, "Give me Sonny's and let me go out with the best last meal possible!" Ha ha!

Always great service at this location. My favorite go-to lunch is the Big Deal: sandwich, side, & drink. Sometimes I go just for the salad bar because they always have some of the best ranch dressing around! The redneck egg rolls are a great choice for appetizer and the banana pudding is fantastic. Easy to get in and out as well.

Seems to be going downhill as far as food quality and service. Longtime customer, just noticing a decline in the quality of the food and some barely alive servers.

First time visit. Ordered the sampler and everything was delicious although I was expecting more. The waiter was very courteous and nice!
