The food was great, but service was sub par. The server had ZERO personality. I sincerely hope she was just having a bad day and does not live life with that funky attitude. I agree with comments about the need for updated decor. Aesthetics are included in the dining experience, so the Flying Fig is in need of renovation. Over all I would return and hope for a better server.

Environmentalists rejoice..Fig's commitment to the environment is obvious in the details. Food selections favor local, sustainable choices. Kevin only provides straws by request and then provides a durable paper vs. plastic straw. We enjoyed the happy hour selections and the Aviator was a delightful drink. The aluminum to-go containers were the final show of respect for the Earth.

Dessert pushed this 4 star review to 5! So let's review this in reverse. Finished with 2 desserts on their special board, the spice cake and vegan salty caramel ice cream. Our waitress, who told me earlier in the evening if I didn't like the cab, she would drink it, said the same does not hold true for the vegan ice cream. But 8 had to try it, especially since I have a lactose intolerant daughter, always lining for safe alternatives. I'm here to tell you, it was excellent! Though, the spice cake was out of this world. You could have told me the icecream was made out of mother's milk and I wouldn't know the difference. For dinner, we had baked rigatoni and chicken schnitzel. The pasta was good, as was the bird, but it was really nothing more than a fried chicken sandwich. Service was fast and friendly. Limited menu, so not sure I'll be back.

Delicious mixed cocktails in a lovely wine bar. Felt comfortable with a large young professional women's group. It was quiet and well decorated. Clean. There was also a small wine shop attached to the bar. Would visit again.

Odd dining experience. First, the good- the service was great. The Wednesday wine special is good too. The bad- the food is artisanal mediocre. You feel like there was a lot of effort put into it, but the product is decent, not great. I would guess the kitchen isn't terribly well managed either. We ate when the place was almost empty, and the food took forever to come out. Portions were a little small, but not absurdly so, and prices a little high for what you get ($22 hamburger). Lastly, I found it...shady.... that some of the prices at the restaurant were higher than listed on the online version of the menu.
