The food is always the same quality across the board and doesn't vary depending on "good or bad days". It's a standard NJ diner. Not below par, and not above par. It's usually a little darker in there than I'd prefer but the staff is generally friendly and always hospitable. Good for a place to get your food quickly and without any surprises. Give them a try if you haven't already!

Sage Diner is a pleasant, typical New Jersey Diner. The menu offers a wide variety of food, serves breakfast all day, and has a selection of fresh pastries. The prices are reasonable and won't scare even the frugal away. The staff is very much what one expects to see at a diner, as they are friendly, conversation-ready, observant, and expedient. It does get busy during peak hours, but if you are like my wife and I, you will manage to find a fairly quiet atmosphere just outside of these hours. Highly recommended for those who have a love of New Jersey diners and those who are completely new to the phenomenon.

Rudest owner I've ever seen in my life. I went on Easter day, around lunch like 3pm. Half of the diner menu was covered in white paper, I'm assuming because they weren't available at the moment. The waiter came and said we can get everything else from the rest of the menu, and she was uncovering the menu. And I was just helping and I was taking it off. And the owner came and started yelling at me and even pushed my shoulder. I was so confused. He said no this is not available it's for lunch and now it's dinner time (again this is at 3pm). And the server said but we served all of this item to all customers. It wasn't even me who did anything. How does someone yell at a customer like that. The most worst diner I've ever went to. I don't know what was up with him, everyone getting treated fine. That was obnixously rude. The only reason that diner is probably running is because of the servers are so well behaved and have good customer service. I am literally red right now, and super embarrassed that he talked to me like that. Even the servers were so shocked. They were so embarrassed that he was yelling at me and the servers. Worst!!!!

This diner needs a major updating...the booth seat was split in two different places, the sugar holder looks like it hadn't been washed in months and the ladies bathroom was terrible....there were two stalls but when there are three people waiting for one the door hits you in the back while waiting. The lock on the bathroom door was broken but a push one was installed at the top of the door. If you were handicapped the toilet was so low you wouldn't be able to get up. I would have given this place a one star but must admit the food at breakfast was good and the waitress was really good. My husband and I would not return here.
