Not as good as it used to be & not sure if they've reopened after a recent fire. However they were for more than 60. Years one of the best family Italian restaurants in Memphis

Don't say you're a Memphian if you don't go to Pete & Sam's. Restaurant royalty. Dig on the vibe, it's eclectic atmosphere and appreciate the menu. Bring your own wine. Go for the double bottle and stay a while. You need a mini pizza. Best homemade 1000 island in the entire universe. Garlic lovers paradise. The Gattuso's and the Bomarito's and all their kin are the bee's knees. The world is a better place because if Pete & Sam's. Bonus:. They cater.

Delicious food that no one in Memphis can equal. They understand the value of their fellow man. 20 years ago they fed my family when my mom had cancer and my sister and I were children. They never questioned my mother's actual need. It remains to this day my favorite meal that I remember throughout my childhood. I specifically remember my mom not crying when she asked for a meal. I will forever be grateful and cherish that experience. God blesses those that bless those in need. I sincerely hope that they never stop both giving and receiving...it's a rare spirit.

Last night I literally had the worst dining service experience of my life at Pete and Sam's. They were "out of clean glasses". No silverware was given to us. We had to take it from neighboring empty tables. Our reservation wasn't ready on time. We were never given refills until we demanded them from the waiter. And, finding the waiter was a long process in itself. It seemed as though he purposely avoided our table. Honestly it seemed like he was avoiding all his tables and just hiding nervously in the kitchen. We didn't order until an hour after we had been there because the service was so slow. All of the neighboring occupied tables seemed to be equally as frustrated with the service. A half hour after we ordered, we were told that they were out of ravioli and everyone at our table who had ordered ravioli would have to change their order. 2 hours after being seated, our food was served and the majority of it was wrong. The waiter had no idea what any of us ordered. He had to ask us one by one what we ordered, and then he went to the kitchen and grabbed our food one at a time. Much of the food was cold, incorrect from what was ordered, and some of it just tasted bad. At the end the waiter finally said, "I'm sorry for... all the stuff." It seemed as though he hadn't been trained because he never got anything correct. And to make things worse, the manager blamed our bad service on the waiter as we were leaving. If you are a manger, the people under you are a reflection of your magement skills and you should never throw them under the bus. I will never choose to go to Pete and Sam's again. My in-laws remember "the way things use to be" at the restaurant, but unfortunately that's no longer the case.
