I was at the shopping center finishing up a haircut and saw a Now Open banner on the building. I went to check out what was there and found Snappy Salad. As I saw it was a salad place, I wasn't going to eat there. The thought of building-my-own-salad in particular didn't entice me --- turns out that's not their model at all. Lots of salad choices on the menu and then they'll put together what you order in front of you. They encourage selecting from the menu and then tweaking your item, if you wish. (There was a friendly man explaining it all to us who had wandered in.) They also have a few wraps and soups and other items. I had the Sweet & Smokey Salad that is a feature that will change ~weekly if I heard rightly. It was really good! I might well go back and have another tomorrow. I was impressed. If they maintain the quality, I'll probably bring work colleagues when they come to town (some of whom are vegetarian). As I was leaving, I asked how long they'd been open. The gentleman looked at his watch and told me, "About an hour and half." My only worry is how small the place is. They appear to have a number of locations in the Dallas area, 2 in Houston, and this is their first in Austin. My family will miss the la Madeleine that was at this spot, but this new restaurant is a great addition to this area (our neighborhood).

Pretty good salad. Got the Buffalo Chicken (half). A little overdressed but I'll ask for half the dressing next time. Good jalapeno bread. Prepare yourself for a little sticker shock. There are some $18 - $20 salads on the chalk board (crab cake & tuna). Thing is, for lunch salad the guy who suggested Mod is probably on to something. Pretty much the same salad for about half the money and Mod has the nice outside seating instead of being on the end of the last building in the shopping center.

Wow!! Been to the ones in Dallas, so excited to have one here!!! Delicious as always!!! Walked in, was greeted by James and Jesse, they gave my friend and I the run down of the place and what salads everyone's been talking about. They made some great recommendations. Tried something completely new, the Warm Cauliflower Salad, and it was super yummy!!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place looks great, exactly what I have come to expect after being to the ones in Dallas. Thanks for coming to Austin!!!

Snappy? Pretty slow moving . First experience was OK. Second not so much - ran out of dressing and instead of getting more, my salad was just given to me without the dressing.
