First off, I was more than eager to to support a black owned AND Veteran business! They did not disappoint! The food was great, well presented and tasted phenomenal. I had their healthy breakfast, grits and eggs whites while my boyfriend had the wings and grits. A few reasons why I didn't put 5 Stars. Only issues I saw with my table and others around me was that the tables had not been wiped down, still had food on them. Staff was not in uniform, on their phones, and did not greeting customers. We weren't sure if we were to sit and a menu would be brought out or do we go to the counter, you have to go to the counter. Also, wasn't sure if we collect our own silverware or if it would be brought out to us, it was eventually. Overall good experience, will be returning. I suggest maybe some training for staff, they did look young and inexperienced. Nothing that can't be fixed!

My husband and I had heard wonderful things about this place so we decided to give it a try. We arrived and saw a sign "if this is your first time here please go to counter". I wish someone could have greeted me at the door. The young man behind the counter handed me a menu without a hello, I think he could have explained the process We'll take your order here and then you can sit at any open table. After placing our order there were 2 open tables but both of them had crumbs and food from the previous patrons. I asked the young man to wipe down the table and he did with great attention to detail in both the table and chairs. The table behind us was served and the woman had to ask for silverware. We waited for about 15 minutes and still didn't have our drinks. We then received our food but my husband was served first and my food came out 7 minutes later. Needless to say he was almost finished when my food arrived. I would have enjoyed this experience much better if the customer service was there. We ended up seeing 3 people working the counter but 1 should have worked the counter while the other 2 took orders and provided a intimate experience. I also think uniforms would elevate the level of service provided. The staff looked like they rolled out of bed, wearing joggers and sweatshirts. A nice logo embroidered polo shirt with khakis or jeans would look neat in a restaurant setting. Food came out hot and good. I would go back again but I really need the service to improve.

I really wanted to love this little restaurant because of the great reviews and because I like to support veteran-owned businesses but our dining experience wasn’t good. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was swimming in oil ... so much that I had to blot up the oil with my napkin before eating. I ordered my eggs over medium and one yolk was fully cooked, the other egg yolk wasn’t quite as bad but definitely not “over medium.” Now, I love a good biscuit and was so disappointed in what was served. The top was edible but the bottom was burned. That biscuit should never have been served to a customer. My husband’s meal was the same ... over-cooked eggs and burnt biscuit. Maybe the kitchen staff was preoccupied because another customer who came in after us actually opened the kitchen door and stood right inside the kitchen, talking to someone in the back. He picked up his own food from the counter and again at the kitchen door. Krack of Dawn Donuts was a disappointment.

I can't give 5 stars to any place that feels the need to have wide screen TVs. Knock off 1 star immediately. Worst breakfast EVER in over 50 years of eating breakfast. Knock off 2 more stars. $12.00 for biscuits and eggs and coffee. Really??? Price TOO HIGH! Neither the food nor the atmosphere support that much for a simple breakfast. Knock off 1 more star. Over-heavy on cheerfulness and sorely lacking on quality. Biscuits and gravy breakfast with scrambled eggs. Biscuits burned on bottom...not servable to the public in that condition. Biscuits sliced buttered and grilled then put back together and small amount of gravy poured on top. NOT ENOUGH GRAVY. Leave open and then smother in gravy. Maybe the burned bottom would had been more palatable. Next: turn off the TV. You're not a sports bar. Your patrons already have the news on their mobile devices. Dining is always better in a relaxed atmosphere. News broadcasts don't help that concept but rather hinder it instead. Couldn't wait to leave and doubt I'll want to return.

I have been here twice now. The first time we had a pleasant experience very nice to us and welcoming. The second was a little different customer service wise. There was no real interaction as with our first visit. Food was great dont get me wrong we enjoyed the food both times, but we came back expecting more interaction with us as customers. We enjoy the family feel.
