Kim Son is consistently good. I go here all the time. They never let me down. We always bring our out-of-town guest here and it is always a hit. Good service. Good food. Today I had the coconut curry catfish on top of bed of rice, Yum!

Horrible service. 5 times I've had the wrong order. Employees are belligerent, you talk to Tom the manager. Who agrees it was his employees fault. Tell me since it's happened more than once that they can refuse to serve me? Wow. . . Board or heath needs to check this place out. And immigration. . . Pathetic. Never again. I'm making some calls tomorrow on these people.

I have not eaten here in years. It is refreshing to be able to walk back in and it is as you left it. No matter how busy this restaurant gets it is always spotless when I'm here. The service always friendly, prompt, professional and the food is always amazing. Chris waited on me and my lil one and made our visit very enjoyable.

So much went wrong, that I don't know where to begin. I think I'll tackle this chronologically. We came into the restaurant, and stood by the host/hostess podium for a while but busied ourselves with looking at the featured entrees on display. When they finally noticed that we were waiting (the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full at 4:30 on a Sunday), we were seated at a square topped table with our backs to the room. We just switched the napkin rolls so we could seat ourselves with backs to the wall and able to see the dining room. When I looked down on the floor between our 2 seats I was disgusted to see loads of food debri as though 3 toddlers had unloaded dinner on the floor. We decided to ignore this as we really like the food here. We asked the waiter if the 'Double Delight' had any bell peppers or paprika in the recipe. My husband is very allergic to these and has terrible GI pain if he eats even a little. The waiter hastily said, "no bell peppers in this dish". We have been hastily told this before, and the next day my husband says the price. So I politely asked the waiter to ask the chef to be sure. The waiter looked very miffed and said, " I told you there were no bell peppers or pepper". So, I asked the waiter, are you also a part-time chef here? He looks all put out but goes to ask the chef. He returns some while later and informs us, "no bell peppers". He doesn't address the paprika question, but my husband doesn't want to rock the boat, so we order his meal. Then I order and ask for the Mekong Fish - a favorite of mine, and I ask for no MSG. Now, I am not being demanding, it says right on the menu that if you don't want MSG just tell your waiter. He gets all put out again and tells us both of our dishes have MSG and they can't be made w/o it. I have always asked for no MSG, and it has been made to spec before. Why not today. My husband says, "the dishes with the MSG will be fine. My husband was very hungry and wanted to get the meals ordered, so we just gave him the order and hoped for the best. The food came after 15 minutes, and I must admit it was all very tasty. Long story short....i had a Whopper of a headache last night (MSG), and both of us have been in the bathroom all day today (the next day) with really bad stomach cramps and worse. The pros of Kim Son - tasty food, and they give a 20% discount with theatre tickets from the same day. Cons - the filth on the floor between our seats, the cheeky waiter, and the pain and suffering from their lies (about the peppers and paprika) and the refusal to make our meals MSG free. It will be a cold day in hell before we visit Kim Son again.

I would've given less than 1 star if possible! After driving halfway across Houston (from Spring), I was told that they were CLOSED when I arrived at 945 PM! Which might have been acceptable EXCEPT that they have it listed online as 1100 PM on weekdays!
