If you want the taste and big helpings of some outstanding BBQ ? THE SHACK BBQ IS THE PLACE ! Everything from the Red Beans to the potato salad is thumbs up good eating ! N Frankford next to Paint Doctor Well worth the short drive. There is also a bar and a outside eating area with a fireplace going when it's cold out. Owners and staff all make it comfortable like a down home BBQ place ought to be. Do it for yourself check this place out .

Great BBQ. Went up to Lubbock for a graduation and found this gem. I'm glad that I got there early because the line formed pretty quickly. I can see why! The brisket and pulled pork were tender and flavorful. It was the best meal I had up there.

The fellows at the order counter were quite clear, efficient, and friendly! We ordered take out of the lean brisket; still moist with minimal fat. Ordered three sides; especially impressed with the collard greens! They need more waiting space inside for take out customers.

I'm impressed with this place! The BBQ was good, & they've got a refreshingly original take on collard greens (pretty spicy- my only problem was that they went a little too heavy on the black pepper.) The live band was a lot of fun to listen to- kind of a jam session for local musicians- and the bar had good drinks for good prices, including some delicious margaritas! The regulars were a fun crowd of TTU students & old grizzled veterans & a dash of everyone in between. Not too crowded, though- it was quiet enough to have a conversation if you wanted to.

The brisket was among the best I've ever had. Make sure you order it "moist" - you won't regret it even though saying the word might make you uncomfortable! Also the loaded potato salad was bomb. Loved this place!!!
