The most horrible experience of my entire restaurant career! Incredibly rude waitress and greeter. Treated like I did not belong there. Waitress looked cold and disgruntled. We were served very stale bread. The shrimp had to much breading. Even the salad tasted bad. How can you screw up salad?! The decor is wonderful. Atmosphere is great. Service and food are not even mediocre. Nasty service. Never had this experience. Must be the only bad day and I was there. Despite all the wonderful reviews. Hence the reason we went in the first place. You can spend your money here if you want to. It may be good for you. As far as I go. I will not go to a place and be treated like that again when I have more than enough to spend on a great meal. Rude rude rude. Cold and fake smiles and laughter. Not my kind of night!

Sad loss. We are in mourning over the loss of this institution of fine dining. Syd is an artist, and we respect his decision to step down from his position as Hampton Roads greatest. It's just such a disappointment that we won't be able to enjoy all that is Stove. We can only hope to have future opportunities in the form of pop up dining with our favorite culinary star.

Last night marked our 20th visit to Stove the restaurant. Sydney and his staff are the best around. They consistently deliver five star quality food in a fun ,quirky atmosphere. It is the only restaurant that my companions and I will go to for special occasions. Kim and Byron can answer any questions about the menu, cheese list, wine list, and anything else you could possibly have a question about. It is a little pricey but you're not just going out to dinner, you are going to immerse yourself in a dining experience!

Excellent and adventurous cuisine. Portions were very generous. Offerings vary, but on the night that we were there the skillet dishes were delicious. We tried the 'pork o rama' and it was outstanding. The ham was some of the best that I have tried. Wine selection was very good and fairly priced.

Wow where do you start with this wonderful little find. When you find this little place off of the beaten path you will be amazed not only by the taste bud tantalizing food but by the very unique chef. He brings his food to life in your mouth everything from fresh homemade bread made daily to his own dry aged steaks and homemade cured ham. Trust me you do get what you pay for the service is out of this world. The chef will come to your table and check in with you when he has time and wow what a character you will enjoy the company with him. Do not be surprised if he pulls a chair up and chats you up. This place is definitely on my list to visit again. I would travel from Missouri back there just to enjoy this wonderful culinary experience again
