The five stars isn't for this place's innovation or imagination. It's for being the most consistently tasty, simple griddle burger for decades, and the overwhelming feeling you get when you walk up to the window, that these people know what they're doing. You're not getting anything flashy, but you're definitely getting one of the best burgers in town.

Got fried chicken sandwich, onion rings and a sweet tea. Food just as amazing as it used to be! And I used to be Asst. Manager there. It was nice seeing the old place. I have since moved and very rarely get back to lakeside

Extremely overpriced. Why is a bland double cheeseburger $7? You’re honestly better off saving $2 and going to wendy’s for a classic double, you’d get more flavor. Was the burger bad? No, it was just bland and not worth the money. Was the $4.25 chocolate shake bad? Yes. It wasnt made with chocolate ice cream it was made with a ton of artificial-tasting, overly sweet chocolate syrup. So sweet from artificial flavoring it burns the back of the throat. Took about 5 sips and tossed it. Honestly, if you want a good classic burger and dont feel like paying prices that could be charged at any of RVA’s many high quality restaurants, just go to a fast food chain. Chef does not recommend Roy’s.

Order not filled correctly. Not found till at home. Went back to get. Asked for "few extra rings or cone"....for my inconvenience...NOT. "We give you what was missing." To hell with customer satisfaction and local business.

A Richmond institution. This is as close to a Texas Whataburger as I have had outside of Texas. Excellent choice of other food as well, all prepared where you can see it. As good as the two best burger places in town and better than all the rest. Highly recommended.
